Round 4 with the top four spots up for grabs

At the mid point of the USARL regular season, we review this weeks battle for the top of the table.
Round 4 with the top four spots up for grabs

Fight vs Axemen
Saturdays game at 5pm in Philadelphia will be a test to see how both teams have improved over the previous season.  While Philadelphia are fighting fit and have been busily preparing for this game, the Axemen are struggling with injuries in some key positions.  Halfback Richie Alleger and Winger Nick Shea were both injured against Oneida and may have seen their last game for season.  Center Taylor Alley, Utility player Randy Dewey will miss this week and French import player Jeremy Gerondal is also out after reinjuring his groin in his first game back after a hamstring tear during training camp.

Coach for the Axemen Spinner Howland commented, “The Fight are close to a mirror image of the Axemen in size with plenty of big men to create havoc and plenty of speed in the backs.”  He added, “We have been looking forward to this game since the schedule was set and see this as must win if we are to secure our home field advantage in the playoffs.”

Slayers vs Warriors
Warriors still smarting from their first round loss to Jacksonville, travel to a red hot DC Slayers that could see them slip out of the top four if they don’t come away with the points.  New Haven in a must win game will look for strong performances from Wesley Haughton, Karl Buck and Andrew Maroney.  For the Slayers, they are relishing three home games in a row and breathing fire with the help of scoring machine Aaron Cook.  A win for the Slayers will give them a perfect record and equal place along side of the winner of Philadelphia and Jacksonville.
