Rebellion earning their way in top 4

The game started fast and the Warriors gave little in defense which forced the Rhode Island team to grind away. The Rebellion were the first to score through Shane Singleton but only minutes later the Warriors equalized. The game continued as both teams played solid sets both earning points and scoring great tries. One minute before the end of the first half, the Warriors through Reed gave New Haven extra legs by scoring out wide which then was followed by Yergan’s conversion.

At the break the Warriors led 18-16 and couldn’t wait to get back on the field. Unfortunately for them the Rebellion had time to regroup and a shuffle of positions proved successful as plays began to unfold. In one set RIR’s John St John received a ball out wide and broke free 60 yards down the sideline before offloading in spectacular fashion to scorer Matt Burke. The damage was done and the floodgates opened with Rebellion scoring 38 second half points to crush the spirits of a determined Warriors team.

Next week the Rebellion will have their work cutout for them as they take on the 13s still smarting from their last minute loss to the Axemen.

The game is scheduled to kick0ff at 1pm June 30 - M.I.T Steinbrenner Stadium, Boston.
