BOSTON, MA — This Saturday, 27 August, the Top Two Rugby League teams in the USA will converge on Boston, MA to battle for the 2016 USA Rugby League (USARL) National Championship (NC) Game.

In Saturday’s contest, the two clubs competing for the championship are the Philadelphia Fight and the Jacksonville Axemen.

Playoff games leading up to the Championship On 13 August, Jacksonville defeated the Atlanta Rhinos 38 to 28 to secure the southern slot in the matchup. Just one week later, on 20 August, the Philadelphia went into overtime to beat the Boston Thirteens 33 to 24.

When and where to find the game This Saturday, the teams will play the game at Nickerson Field on the grounds of Boston University. Based on the USARL’s preset schedule, this championship matchup kicks off at 4 p.m. eastern time.

For the fans wanting to watch this game in person, they can find Nickerson Field on Harry Agganis Way, Boston, MA 02215. As for those wanting to enter the field, they can purchase tickets — only $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Information about both competing clubs

Through the 2016 USARL Season, both the Fight and the Axemen managed to maintain perfect records. In addition to their respective records, the two teams earned impressive margins of victory over their opponents

As for the Philadelphia Fight, the team finished with a record of 10-0-0. After last week’s playoff win over Boston, Philadelphia outscored its opponents 493 to 88.

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Axemen, who played two fewer games, finished at 8-0-0. Following the team’s eight game season, Jacksonville scored 287 points while allowing just 100 points.
