The combined USA and Canadian team (CanAm) has received a significant boost leading into the clash, with two organisations partnering with the team for the inaugural Liberty Cup.

Zibara Clothing and Pioneer Shade Structures have confirmed sponsorship of the team, showing support, not only for the athletes, some of which have travelled from Canada and the USA to play Rugby League in Australia, but also for the sport in North America.

Zibara Clothing has committed to being the major sponsor of the team

The company has a track record of assisting the development of Rugby League, partnering with the NRL Footy Show and Country Rugby League of New South Wales.  Zibara owner, Leba Zibara, is happy to extend his support of Rugby League through the CanAm side.

"Zibara Clothing/ZBR takes pride in providing High-Quality Products & Customer Service for all sporting wear nationally and internationally.”

“We are proud to be sponsoring and dressing the CanAm Rugby League Team," Leba Zibara said.

Pioneer Shade Structures creates modern pergola, carport and shade structures and is partly owned and operated by Wentworthville Magpies and USA Hawks player, Danny Howard.

Howard believes the Liberty Cup is a great opportunity to leverage the efforts of those who are already growing Rugby League in North America.

"It's great to contribute and see Rugby League continue to develop in both North and South America."

"I'm very pleased to get involved in an exciting new event like this, which should be a thrilling encounter between the North Americans and the Latin Heat," Howard stated.

Aaron Zimmerle, CanAm head coach, is also grateful for Zibara Clothing and Pioneer Shade Structures’ support.

“The sponsorship from these two strong and supportive companies is a tremendous help in preparing the CanAm team for the Liberty Cup,” Zimmerle said.

“From small beginnings big things grow, and that is the impact that Zibara Clothing and Pioneer Shade Structures are having on International Rugby League.”

“Their sponsorship of the inaugural Canam side that will do battle for the Liberty Cup provides further opportunities for the rugby league burgeoning nations of Canada and America.”

“The day will come when a North American national debuts in the NRL and it will be due to the generosity and support of sponsors like Zibara and Pioneer that have helped get them there.”

The CanAm Rugby League side looks forward to working with Zibara Clothing and Pioneer Shade Structure throughout the inaugural Liberty Cup campaign.

The team’s logo and jersey will be revealed in the coming weeks.
