About the Organization

The USARL Technical and Officiating Department establishes, maintains, and scales rules education, match administration frameworks, and safety guidelines across all competitive divisions in the United States.

Role Description

Match Officials are assigned to regional competitive fixtures to oversee match play. Officials ensure matches progress safely according to International Rugby League (IRL) standards, manage field behavior, and provide detailed match reports post-fixture.

Compensation & Match Fees

  • Head Match Referee: $95.00 per fixture allocation.
  • Touch Judges / Side Officials: $40.00 per fixture allocation.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Rugby League rules or a demonstrable background officiating adjacent contact codes (Rugby Union, Gridiron).
  • Sound physical fitness conditioning to meet the spatial demands of high-tempo match play.
  • Decisive communication skills with the authority to manage high-pressure, competitive match environments calmly.

National Competitions Manager

Role Description

The National Competitions Manager takes ownership of domestic schedules. This position involves setting the master season calendar, validating squad registration compliance logs, compiling ladder tables, and acting as a coordinating authority for judiciary panel hearings.

  • Deep familiarity with tournament governance frameworks, eligibility regulations, and codes of conduct.
