Fight, Axemen, Titans and Slayers take the first round of points

Axemen vs Warriors
Jacksonville AxemenOn a blistering day in Jacksonville, the Axemen wielded their own form of punishment to smash the New Haven Warriors 48 – 10.  An impressive crowd over 1,000 were treated to a well prepared Jacksonville team who’s solid defense kept the Warriors out on a number of occasions before turning defense into attack and running away with the game.

Boston 13s vs Titans
NJ Turnpike TitansIn Boston MA, the 13s and Titans battled it out with surprising results as the Titans smashed their way to 36-16 victory.  The NJ Turnpike Titans had little trouble with the Boston green bombers as they pounded their way through some feeble defense running in five tries in the first half.   Credit goes to coach Stuart Harvey who has done an impressive job getting the Titans prepared for their season kickoff.

Rebellion vs Fight
Philadelphia FightOnly an hour south in Providence Rhode Island, the Philadelphia Fight introduced the Rebellion team to a bruising new sport that will require a little soul searching before their next encounter against a motivated Warriors outfit. The Fight had little trouble with the RIR newbies running them all over the park by a score of 46-4. Philadelphia may be on the upswing as ranks continue to strengthen with neighborly teams from not so brotherly leagues beginning to jump ship.

Oneida FC vs Slayers
Washington D.C. SlayersBack in Boston where history saw a rebirth of the oldest Rugby club in America, the DC Slayers gave warning to all parties in the USARL that they mean business by tearing through Oneida FC by a score of 54-10.   Big games for local hero and Co-Captain John Young while the newly landed Aaron Cook quickly dusted off the jetlag by directing traffic for his newfound teammates.
