USARL Announces Change to Club Registration Process for 2025 Season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 18th, 2025

The United States Association of Rugby League (USARL) today announced a structural change to the club registration process for the upcoming 2025 domestic season, shifting away from centralized league registration and empowering individual clubs to manage their own registrations.

Beginning this season, clubs will register independently, allowing for greater flexibility and autonomy at the team level. This new structure is being implemented to create a more efficient and responsive structure, create accountability at a club level and most importantly give all full club members equal voting rights while continuing to support the integrity and growth of rugby league in the United States.

While the club registration process will now be team-managed, the regional conferences in the West, Southeast, and Northeast and supporting organizations in those regions will continue to play a role in supporting the USARL to:

  • Coordinate regional match schedules
  • Manage escalations and disputes
  • Support the overall organization of domestic competition

“This change reflects our ongoing efforts to modernize rugby league governance in the United States and give each club a stake in the development on the sport in the U.S.” said a USARL spokesperson. “Our regional structures remain in place to ensure continuity and coordination across the country.”

In light of this change, the deadline for club registration has been extended to April 23, 2025, to allow clubs additional time to complete the updated process.

Clubs with questions or those seeking assistance with the new registration format are encouraged to contact their regional conference leads or reach out directly to the USARL at This email has been obfuscated..
