Great Britain Lions tour to be screened in North America
The current Great Britain Lions tour of the Pacific, along with two Oceania Cup games and a women’s international, will be shown in North America after an 11th-hour deal, it has been announced.
Great Britain, as distinct from the England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales national teams, played its first international in 12 years on Saturday when it was beaten 14-6 by Tonga in Hamilton, New Zealand.
This Saturday at Auckland’s hallowed Eden Park, the Wayne Bennett-coached Lions play the first of two Tests against the Kiwis before moving onto Port Moresby for a clash with Papua New Guinea on November 16.
The touring squad features stars like James Graham, Tom Burgess, Gareth Widdop and Jackson Hastings and they will come up against Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Benji Marshall and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
This Saturday’s Oceania Cup game between Fiji and Samoa, next week’s encounter between Fiji and Papua New Guinea and the November 16 women’s international between the PNG Orchids and England women are also included in the coverage which can be accessed at rugbyleaguehub.com
