2021 USARL South Championship this weekend
Kickoff is at 6pm on Sat. August 14.
The Jacksonville Axemen have had an amazing undefeated season in 2021, but the USARL South Championship this weekend between the Jacksonville Axemen and the Tampa Mayhem is still do or die, with the winner going on to host the Black Foxes in the USARL National Championship on August 28th.
Jacksonville Coach Sean Rutgerson seemed eager to take to the field. “We are looking forward to playing, after having another week off -- thanks to the Atlanta Rhinos pulling out at the last minute for the second time this year,” he said. “The Axemen should be fresh and ready to go and I am expecting us to be at our best for the Conference Final.”
For their part Tampa's Billy Neilson says they will be ready as well. "We are really excited to get another crack at Jacksonville. If we limit our mistakes and keep the pressure on for the full 80, I like our chances. It won't be easy though; Jacksonville is very fit and very well coached. Should be a hell of a game for the fans to watch."
The 2021 USARL South Championship will take place at the University of North Florida (UNF) on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Kickoff is at 6pm.
